I just got my routine test results. Albumin, Globulin, and Total protein are normal, but my GGT is 64. I'm 24 female. Should I be concerned ? (Note: I drink alcohol only once a month. No hard liquor, just Smirnoff ice. I did take Advil 24 before the test because I had a headache)
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic. I read carefully your query and I understand your concern. You have a little high level of GGT (normal range value is 0-51 IU/L), the high value of GGT are related with alcohol abuse and disease of bile ducts these is accompanied with the elevated test of ALP too; the ultimate studies has find out a linked in of high level of GGT with the early atherosclerosis so for these reason I recommend you to do lipid profileblood test and change your lifestyle, becoming physical active and eat healthy. The take of Advil (Ibuprofen) before you made the lab test does not affect the liver enzyme test. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions. Kind regard, Dr .Marsida Janko
